Dear Student-Athlete and Parent:

Athletic Training is an allied health profession recognized by the American Medical Association and dedicated to the evaluation, acute management, rehabilitation, and prevention of injuries or illnesses related to the participation in sports, exercise and physical activity.  An athletic trainer is a certified allied health care professional educated and experienced in the management of health care problems associated with sports participation. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health care personnel, the athletic trainer functions as an integral member of the athletic health care team in secondary schools, colleges and universities, professional sports programs, sports medicine clinics and industrial settings.

Shenandoah University's Athletic Training Staff that consists of Certified Athletic Trainers, Physicians and other health care providers follow the mission of our institution.  In addition, SU's sports medicine team is charged with providing the best care possible to our NCAA sponsored sports and its participating athletes.
