XC Finishes With Six Personal Bests at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Shenandoah University cross country teams returned to action Saturday at the Inter-Regional Rumble.

The women's team finished with 402 points good for 14th place with an average time of 24:22 for runners one through five. The top five for the women were within 1:22 of eachother at the finish line.

On the Men's side, Zachary Barton led the men with a time of 28:16.9 for a 141st place finish.

HARRIER HAPPENINGS

  • The SU women finished 20 points behind 13th place Geneva and 10 points ahead of 15th place Heidelberg.

  • The Shenandoah women saw five personal bests this morning. Ariana Williams and Jennifer Macias led the way with PRs of 1:21 and 1:31 respectively. Rebecca Doran, Kayla McGhee and Whitney Anderson all had PRs as well.

  • Emily Miller and Aislynn Smith both ran season best 6k times at the Inter-Regional Rumble.

  • 313 athletes ran in the women's 5k race.

  • Host Oberlin College won the women's race with 77 points.

  • Reed Davis and Canon Green recorded a personal best today.

  • Zachary Barton and Kyle Albert had season best performances today by 50 seconds and 23 seconds respectively.  

  • The men averaged an 8k time of 29:34 all finishing within 2:12 of eachother, the best of their season.

  • Shenandoah finished 24th place of 27.

  • 309 athletes ran in the men's race.

  • Case Western won the men's race with 46 points.

"This was our final tune up for ODAC Championships with some of the best competition in the Great Lakes Region,"  Head Coach Andrew Marrocco said. "We posted a combined six personal records and four season bests mentally puts us in a place wherer we are ready for conferences in two weeks."
