BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's and women's cross country teams opened their respective seasons Thursday by participating in the Eagle Cross Country Challenge for the second consecutive year.
The SU men were fifth with 157 points while the Hornet women were seventh with 166. There were six teams in the men's race and nine in the women's.
On the women's side, Alexandria Caljean was 22nd and Emily Miller 23rd. Like the men, Caljean and Miller came across the line at basically the same time with Caljean posting an 18:24.280 and Miller 18:24.593.
Both teams are in action this Saturday at the Sea Gull Invitational hosted by Salisbury University.
