OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Women's soccer defeated Stevenson 2-1 in a non-league road contest Wednesday evening.
After the Mustangs (0-5-2) took the lead in the third minute of the game off of a penalty kick, the Hornets (3-4) were able to tie it up midway through the first half on a Shannen de Leon goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
74′ | Emily Yergin was on the right side of the box, she serviced a great ball to Abby Alexa who scored just inside the far post for 17 yeards out. Alexa's goal is her second of the season and her first game-winning tally.
03′ | Shenandoah committed a handball violation inside the box and the Mustangs were awarded a penalty kick. Alayna Roesener took advantage of the opportunity and scored.

The Mustangs outshot the Hornets 21-18.
Stevenson also had the advantage in corners 7-5.
Emilie Smith recorded seven saves.
This is the second year in a row the two programs have met since first meeting in 2008. The series is now 2-1 in the Hornets favor.
