WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University Head Women's Soccer Coach Liz Pike announced her 2018 schedule Tuesday morning.

Pike, starting her 12th season as the Hornets head coach, has seven home games on tap this fall.

After opening the year by playing Johns Hopkins and host Carnegie Mellon in the Tartan Cup Tournament, Pike's club opens up its home slate on Thursday, September 6 with a 7 p.m. non-league contest versus Goucher.

The Gophers are one of two non-league foes for the Hornets this fall as perennial DIII power Salisbury comes to town for a 2 p.m. contest on September 15.

SU downed Salisbury last season, 2-1, in the season opener while the Goucher matchup is in the first in history between the Hornets and Gophers.

Shenandoah hosts Randolph College, Washington and Lee, Eastern Mennonite, Bridgewater and Roanoke in ODAC play with the Randolph game on September 29 the league home opener.

Washington and Lee, on October 5, is part of Homecoming 2018 while the Roanoke contest on October 27 will serve as Senior Day.

SU travels to Ferrum, Hollins, Randolph-Macon, Guilford and Lynchburg to complete its league slate.

The September 22 contest versus Ferrum, the first versus the Panthers since 2011, kicks off the ODAC schedule.

In addition to the Carnegie Mellon Tournament, the squad plays at Kenyon College and Denison University the second weekend of September, at Stevenson on September 19 and Mary Washington on September 26.

"We always strive to play the most challenging non-conference schedule possible, and this year is no exception," Pike said.

"Our two tournaments (at Carnegie Mellon and Kenyon/Denison) are a great way to start the season and prepare us for the conference schedule."
