YORK, Pa. – The Shenandoah University women's golf team completed play at the inaugural Spartan Invitational hosted by York College of Pennsylvania Sunday by finishing in fifth place.

Playing a second straight day at the par-73, 5810-yard York Country Club, the Hornets improved by three strokes over its Saturday score to shoot a collective 365 Sunday.

IN BRIEF

The three-shot improvement helped move SU up one place into fifth. The Hornets were 12 shots better than sixth-place Goucher and 37 back of fourth-place Alvernia.

Host York won it by 25 strokes over Gettysburg.

Freshman Natalie Hill had a team-best eight-over-par 81 Sunday to finish with a 170 total and in 15th place overall.

Madison Ngo had 93, Katie Davis 94 and McKenzie Slattery 97 to round out the Hornets total. Hill improved by nine shots off of her day one score and Slattery cut her total by five.
