GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Shenandoah University women's golf team opened up its 2018 fall season this weekend with an eighth place finish at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison University.

IN BRIEF

After Saturday's opening round was suspended after 13 holes due to rain, the Hornets completed round one Sunday morning with a collective 370 before shooting 359 in Sunday's originally scheduled second round.

SU finished 33 strokes in front of ninth place Adrian (Mich.) and 51 back of No. 7 Stevenson. DePauw (Ind.) won the tournament with a 615. The Tigers beat Transylvania by 13 strokes.

Freshman Natalie Hill paced the Hornets with an 85-83—168 to finish 27th overall with senior Emily Conrad 47th and juniors Madison Ngo and McKenzie Slattery tied for 50th.

Katie Davis finished 61st and her totals did not count toward the team score.
