BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Shenandoah University women's golf team opened up its 2018 spring season Monday by shooting a collective 419 in the opening round of the adidas/TaylorMade Intercollegiate Invitational.

Hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the Morgan River course of the Dataw Island Club, the Hornets had a 419 over the par-72, 5900-yard layout.

Sophomore Katie Davis paced SU on day one of the two-day, 36-hole event with a 23-over 95. Classmates Madison Ngo and McKenzie Slattery posted 97 and 98, respectively.

Hannah Henry rounded out the scores with a 129.

Davis is 16th, Ngo tied for 18th and Slattery tied for 20th.

Shenandoah is 28 shots back of fifth-place Mt. St. Joesph's and 11 in front of seventh-place Millikin.

Ohio Dominican leads the tournament after posting a 336 day one total with Marymount second and York (Pa.) third.
