CANONSBURG, Pa. – The Shenandoah University women's golf team battled through difficult scoring conditions to shoot a combined 465 Sunday in the opening round of the Peter C. Rossin Memorial hosted by Washington and Jefferson.

Sophomore Madison Ngo led the Hornets over the par-72 Southpointe Golf Club, which hosts a Web.com Professional Tour event, with a 28-over-par 100 to help SU to a fourth place spot after day one of the two-day, 36-hole event.

Katie Davis had a 101, McKenzie Slattery 114 and Allyson Schwind a 150 to round out the Shenandoah scores.

Ngo is 13th overall in the tournament.

Malone University leads the tourney after shooting a collective 354. MU has a 19-stroke lead over Allegheny.

The tournament concludes with an 18-hole round Monday.
