With the Hornets (7-8, 3-3 ODAC) trailing by just one, 41-40, as the fourth quarter commenced, GC poured in 23 points in those final 10 minutes to coast home to the 13-point win.
Holding that 41-40 lead after Shannon Kuhn closed out the third quarter scoring with a baseline jumper, GC started the fourth on a 10-2 run.
Sophomore Sarah Donley finally halted the Quakers (10-3, 4-2) run with a 3-pointer at 6:03, but this would be as close as SU would come.
Guilford answered with a pair of layups sandwiched around a Hornets turnover to push the lead into double digits, and did not allow the Hornets closer than nine points the rest of the way.
The Quakers scored nine of the final 12 points of the game to provide the final margin of victory.
Senior Kirstyn Arcata had a team-high 15 points for the second straight game and is now just 40 points from 1000 for her career. At her current scoring rate, she should crack that barrier in the first half of the Randolph contest on January 27.
Donley and Ashley Stone backed up Arcata with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
SU shot 33 percent on 16-of-48 shooting and saw the Quakers have a 49-29 edge on the glass. This led to Guilford scoring all 17 of the game's second chance points.
Lauren Ramsey had 17 points for the hosts.
