Wilkerson Eighth at Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Shamyra Wilkerson officially became the first All-America in Shenandoah University track & field history with her eighth place Saturday in the 200 meters at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Competing in the second of two finals heats, Wilkerson had a 25.84 to finish eighth overall and claim the All-America spot.

Gabrielle Noland from Loras (Iowa) won the national championship with a 24.34.


"This is a historic day for our program and university," head coach Andy Marrocco said. "I am proud of her hard work and focus, she handled the pressure well and truly earned and deserves this honor."


The outdoor portion of the season continues March 15 and 16 at the W&L Track & Field Carnival.
