NCAA Championships Preview

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Shamyra Wilkerson, the 2019 ODAC Champion in the 200 meter dash, looks to become the first All-American in Shenandoah University track & field history with her participation in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track National Championship this weekend.

The USTFCCCA All-Region runner has qualified for the national championships in both the 200 and the 60 meter dashes as announced by the NCAA on Sunday, March 3.

Wilkerson enters into the championship meet seeded 11th in the 60 meters with a time of 7.74 seconds and 13th in the 200 meter after running 25.11 seconds.

Both of her entry times are school records and were recorded at 2019 ODAC Championships at Roanoke College on February 23.

"Shamyra ran extremely well at the ODAC Championships," head coach Andrew Marrocco said. "She has looked sharp all week and her performance gave her a lot of confidence heading into the big stage. We are excited to get to Boston to compete amongst the best runners in Division III."

Should Wilkerson, a six-time All-ODAC honoree, qualify for the finals in either event, she would earn All-America status.
