Wilkerson Wins ODAC Championship

SALEM, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's indoor track & field teams completed their seasons Sunday with a pair of top seven finishes at the ODAC Indoor Championships.

The Shenandoah women were fifth with 42 points with the SU men seventh with 34 points.

Washington and Lee won the men's championship and Lynchburg the women.

Shamyra Wilkerson led the SU women to that fifth place showing with a championship in the 200 meters and a runner-up in the 60. She is currently 12th in the nation in the 200 and 11th in the 60 after posting school records in both events.

"Very happy for Shamyra for earning the ODAC title," head coach Andy Marrocco said. "We competed in every event and we had numerous personal bests today. This was a good finish to the indoor season."

UP NEXT

This concludes the indoor season for the majority of the team. Following a last chance meet next week at Roanoke and the possible national championship appearance in two weeks, the outdoor season begins on March 8 at Coastal Carolina.

NOTABLE

The team had 18 personal bests, five school records and six All-ODAC honorees.
