WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University softball team completed its homestand Saturday by splitting an ODAC doubleheader with Ferrum

Shenandoah (10-9, 2-2 ODAC) salvaged the split by winning game two 5-2 after Ferrum (12-8, 2-2) was a 10-2 winner in five innings in game one.


The Panthers scored three runs in the first before breaking open the game one with a six-run fourth versus SU.

Ferrum had 12 hits in the win and pitcher Ashton Lambeth (8-2) held the Hornets to four hits the complete game victory.

BayLee Jenkins and Sierra Beaty both drove in runs for the hosts with Beaty driving in Maryann Hollen with a sacrifice fly in the second and Jenkins bringing home Carly Shaw on a single to left center in the third.

Carrie Robinson (6-3) took the loss after allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and four walks in 5.0 innings.


Freshman Megan Scalley earned her second win of the spring with a complete game performance in the 5-2, game two victory.

Scalley allowed the two runs on nine hits and one walk and saw her offense score the five runs on just seven hits.

With the game tied at 1-1 after FC scored one run in the top of the sixth, the Hornets put up a four-spot in the bottom of the frame to secure the victory.

Morgan Henley had the big hit, launching a three-run home run to left to bring home Bridget Mason and Hollen.

Meghan Stout plated the first run of the inning on a single down the right field line. Mason then pinch ran for Stout before Henley's dinger.

Lambeth was tagged with the loss after giving up four runs on five hits in one inning of work.

Hollen and Stout both had two hits for Shenandoah.


SU travels to Mary Washington on Sunday for a 1 p.m. non-league doubleheader.
