FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team is the pre-season No. 7 selection of the ODAC coaches in poll results released Friday afternoon by the league office.

The Hornets, with 47 points, come in two points behind Bridgewater and five points ahead of Guilford in the poll.

Washington and Lee was selected first with 96 points, receiving seven first-place votes.

Lynchburg, the 2018 ODAC champions, grabbed three first-place votes to come in five points behind W&L.

Roanoke, along with Washington and Lee and Lynchburg, went on to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Voting was done on an 10-1 basis and coaches were forbidden from voting for their own teams in the poll.

SU returns the top-5 team leaders in all offensive categories as well as starting goalie Jason Simpson and the top three close defensemen.

Shenandoah returns two 2018 All-ODAC selections in Michael Brooks (second team, midfield) and Ryan Schott (third team, attack). Coach Marshall and his staff brought in 14 freshman, providing the most depth that the program has seen in recent years.
