We have had a pretty good week since my last blog as we earned our first ODAC win over Randolph College on Saturday. This win didn't come without struggle though, we had a 9-2 lead at halftime only to see the WildCats fight back very hard to make it a very tense game with us ending on top at 11-10.
There were a lot of flashbacks for some of the returners, including myself, concerning this game. Last season, the roles were reversed and we came up a little short in our comeback. It was nice to come out on top Saturday.
Tilghman Sanders played great in this game, winning 12 of 24 faceoffs and scooping up 12 ground balls as well. Stephen LaTona and Drew Brooks paced our offense with four goals for LT and two goals and three assists for Drew. Also, a big shout out to Kyle Savage (Peanut) for scoring his first college goal early in the game in front of the home crowd.
Kyle Shea, after turning 21 on Friday, played great as well at close defense and took some crucial LSM runs with Dom Lombardi after Mason Ryzoff went down with an ankle injury. Overall we played as a team and played very hard. While we are still looking to put everything together, this is a great start.
Coming up we have a non-conference game tomorrow against Marymount. This is our final tune up before finishing out ODAC play so we are very excited to play under the home lights at 7 p.m. After that we have a quick turn around before we go to play at Lynchburg on Sunday March 30th.
Thanks to everybody again for the support of our team as we continue to play our ODAC schedule. We really appreciate it.
