Men's Golf Opens at Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The Shenandoah University men's golf team had a season low 297 Friday on the opening day of the 48th Annual Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Championships hosted at Marine Base Camp Lejeune.

Playing the par-70, 6110-yard Scarlet course, Shenandoah posted all five scores in the 70s to help record the season-best round.

IN BRIEF

Blake Woodie had a two-over-par 72 with Connor McCarthy and Joseph Gesell each recording four-over 74.

Josh Bianco had the final qualifying score with a 77.

Shenandoah is currently 11th, one stroke back of national power Methodist.

NC Wesleyan leads with a 268. The Bishops, like SU, played the Scarlet course.
