SUFFOLK, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's golf team completed its fall season Tuesday afternoon with a 10th place finish at the VSGA Intercollegiate.

Playing the par 72, 6599-yard Sleepy Hole GC for a second straight day, Shenandoah had a 320 to secure the 10th position in the 16-team tournament.

IN BRIEF 

Senior Jeremy Mills and sophomore Joseph Gesell led the Hornets with each carding six-over-par 78. Connor McCarthy and Josh Bianco rounded out the qualifying scores with a pair of 82s.

Blake Woodie had an 83 that did not count toward the team total.

Mills had four birdies in his round – the par-4, 385-yard third; the par-3, 178-yard 11th; the par-4, 443-yard, 15th; and the par-4, 443-yard 18th.

Gesell and McCarthy had three birdies each with Bianco and Woodie recording one each.

Mills tied for 21st and Gesell tied for 24th in the 93-man tourney.

Division II Virginia Union on the tournament by nine strokes over Christopher Newport. Shenandoah finished five shots back of Lynchburg and Southern Virginia. The Hornets were 12 strokes clear of No. 11 Emory and Henry.
