ASHLAND, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's golf team finished fifth at the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament hosted by Randolph-Macon thanks to a solid 302 Tuesday morning in the final round of the tournament.

IN BRIEF

Playing again at the par-71, 6679-yard Hanover Country Club, the Hornets improved by eight strokes over Monday's opening round to move up one spot in the standings and best William Peace University by five strokes. Shenandoah finished one shot behind fourth place Mary Washington.

Franklin & Marshall won the tourney with a two-day total of 585. The Diplomats beat Averett University by 18 strokes.

Joseph Gesell and Connor McCarthy shared team medalist honors with a pair of 148s. McCarthy led on day two with a three-over-par 74 and the duo finished in a tie for eighth.
