McCarthy Wins PSU-Altoona Invite

ALTOONA, Pa. – Senior Connor McCarthy earned the first win of his Shenandoah University men's golf career by taking the PSU-Altoona Invitational Saturday afternoon.

IN BRIEF

McCarthy recorded a one-over-par 73 to win the 18-hole event by one stroke over two golfers from Pitt-Bradford and one from PSU-Behrend.

The Shenandoah men played the par-72, 6997-yard Sinking Valley Country Club and finished tied for third overall with a 311. PSU-Altoona won it on a tiebreaker over PSU-Behrend; both sets of Lions shot 308.

SU tied with Pitt-Bradford for third in the 11-team event.

The Shenandoah 'B' team shot 329 to finish eighth.
