FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's golf team opened up its 2018 fall season Monday with a ninth place showing at the rain-shortened Greene Turtle Invitational.

IN BRIEF

Heavy rains over the weekend forced the cancellation of Sunday's opening round and necessitated Monday's second round to move from Winchester Country Club to Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

Playing at the par-70, 6063-yard red and white nines at SVGC, the Hornets had a collective 294 Monday to finish ninth of 16 teams.

The Shenandoah 'B' team had a 315 to finish 14th overall.

Josh Bianco and Robert Fox pace the 'A' team with a pair of one-over-par 71s to finish tied for ninth overall.

Guilford, with a collective one-over-par 281, won the tournament by four strokes over Christopher Newport
