LYNCHBURG, Va. – Host University of Lynchburg completed a sweep of its ODAC men's basketball series with Shenandoah University by downing SU 96-70 Saturday afternoon at Turner Gymnasium.

Lynchburg (19-5, 10-5 ODAC) jumped out to a 31-11 lead over Shenandoah (5-18, 1-13) and kept up the pressure throughout. The hosts shot 52 percent from the field (38-of-73) and had seven of their 12 3-pointers in the first half.

Trailing by 16, 48-32, at the break, Shenandoah scored 11 of the initial 17 points of the second to cut the deficit to 11 points following a Jason Tate layup at 16:08.

SU was able to force a turnover on Lynchburg's ensuing possession, but missed a layup on its offensive end and then gave up a 3-pointer following a pair of missed Lynchburg free throws.

The 3-pointer, by Reggie Davis at 15:26, started a 16-2 run for the hosts that effectively sealed the contest.

Christopher Chaney led the visitors with 20 points with Jaylen Williams and Jalyn Jarrett each adding 11. Williams also had eight rebounds.

Shenandoah shot 39 percent (27-of-68) for the game and saw Lynchburg grab 46 of the game's 81 rebounds.
