WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Friday that it has dedicated its Saturday ODAC men's basketball game versus Hampden-Sydney to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
As part of a league-wide initiative with the V University virtual campus, all funds raised thru the men's game Saturday and the women's Play4Kay game on February 13, 2019 versus Eastern Mennonite are earmarked for the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
"I am very happy to once again support this great cause," head men's basketball coach Adam Walsh said.
"Unfortunately, cancer has touched many of our lives. This makes it so important that we do our part to help find a cure. I am proud that the ODAC has taken a lead role in helping us give back to the community."
In addition to donating the ticket revenue from Saturday, the university will accept donations for V University during the game. The university plans on the same procedure for the women's game on February 19.
