GILBERT, Ariz. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team has earned a ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award in selections announced Wednesday afternoon by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The NFHCA honors all of its teams, by division, that earn at least a 3.0 team GPA during the fall semester.
For the fall, 2018 semester, Shenandoah's 24-woman roster had a 3.59 average GPA with 15 of the 24 earning Dean's List (3.5 GPA and above) accolades. Ten women earned President's List honors for posting at least a 3.8 GPA and five: Kayla Alderman, Hailey Colt, Katie Garman, Hannah Mink, and Morgan Payne checked in with perfect 4.0s.
Overall, 21 of the 24 women on the ODAC championship round squad had at least a 3.0 GPA.
This is the fifth straight year that the women have been recognized by the NFHCA for their academic success.
Shenandoah is one of 131 Division III schools, and five in the ODAC, to earn the honor.
