WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University ran its non-league baseball winning streak to five games Tuesday afternoon with an 11-9 home victory over York (Pa.).
Shenandoah (11-7) broke open a 2-2 contest with a four-run fourth.
The Spartans (12-5) got themselves back in the contest thanks to a Grant Oberholtzer three-run home run in the sixth only to see SU answer with one in the sixth and four more in the seventh.
York refused to fold its tents, and another three-run home run, this one by Brandon White, keyed a four-run eighth for the Spartans.
Seth Comer (2-0), the second of five Hornets pitchers, earned the win in relief. He gave up one hit and walked one in two innings of work.
Gerard DePhillips worked a scoreless ninth to earn his sixth save. He induced two groundballs to short, and after an infield error, got the final out on another groundball to short.
