MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Shenandoah University baseball team has risen two spots to No. 18 in the nation in the week 11 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll released Tuesday morning by the website.
The Hornets, now 31-10 following Monday's 3-1 non-league victory over Penn State - Harrisburg, have 182 points to find them sandwiched between a pair of California schools, Redlands and Chapman, in the No. 18 spot. SU is 17 points back of Redlands and 14 clear of Chapman.
UW-Whitewater is the nation's new No. 1 team. The Warhawks have 602 points and nine first place votes to swap positions with Wooster (Ohio). The Scots also have nine first place votes and are two spots back.
Shenandoah returns to ODAC Tournament play on Friday with a 4 p.m. game at Lynchburg City Stadium versus No. 3 Randolph-Macon. The final four of the double-elimination tournament also features No. 13 Roanoke as well as Virginia Wesleyan.
