WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 1/5 Shenandoah baseball earned its 10th straight win Sunday with a 17-0 non-league shutout at Gallaudet.
Freshman Reeves Lowry, making his first-ever varsity appearance, allowed just one hit in 7.0 innings of work to pick up the victory.
Lowry (1-0), who carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, struck out six (including his first hitter) and walked just two.
He lost his no-hitter on an infield single in the fifth.
The SU offense scored runs in all but the fourth and seventh innings and plated three runs each in the first and second.
Arocho had two RBI, including the game winner. In the first, Tristan Baker led off with a double down the right field line and came home on Arocho's double to right center.
Loew had a two-run triple in the second with Smallwood roping a two-run triple to center in the sixth.
The shutout is the second of the weekend for coach Kevin Anderson's club and the fourth of the year.
