INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Shenandoah University baseball team has been selected as a participant in the 2016 NCAA Division III Baseball Championships in selections announced early Monday morning by the NCAA.
The 32-10 Hornets were selected as a at-large (Pool C) in the 56-team tournament. SU has been assigned to the Mount Berry, Georgia Regional as the No. 3 seed.
Shenandoah faces fourth-seeded Marietta (Ohio) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the six-team regional.
Coach Kevin Anderson's club, which has now qualified for the regionals for three consecutive years and seven times in the past eight, participated in the 2014 Regional with Emory and B-SC. The Hornets defeated Birmingham-Southern on day two before being eliminated by Emory on day three.
