WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University Head Baseball Coach Kevin Anderson announced his 2015-16 recruiting class Wednesday morning.
Anderson, who enters the 2016 season needing just three victories for 500 as a college head coach, directed a recruiting effort that is adding 27 new student-athletes into his defending ODAC Champion program for the coming spring.
Included in the 27 newcomers are natives of nine different states. Nine of the 27 hail from Virginia with six from Maryland, three from Delaware and Pennsylvania, two each from Michigan and West Virginia and one from Arizona, North Carolina and Tennessee.
The Arizona native, outfielder Cayman Berg, is the only student-athlete at SU from the 48th state.
Infield, with 13 players, is the most popular position, while seven players are combination pitchers/hitters.
Six outfielders, three catchers and five pitchers (three right-handed, two southpaws) round out the class.
"Bruce (Bruce Cameron) and the rest of the coaching staff did a great job in bringing in this class," Anderson said.
"These student-athletes know the expectations we place on the players in our program, and they are ready to meet those expectations.
"We can't wait to get started."
