MINNEAPOLIS, Minn./ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Shenandoah University baseball team continues to be ranked among the nation's elite in a pair of ranking polls released Tuesday morning.
The ODAC leading Hornets, now 16-4-1 after going 4-1 last week, remain as the nation's No. 9 team in the D3baseball.com poll while jumping six spots to No. 13 in the ABCA poll.
This is the highest average ranking for the squad this season.
Coach Kevin Anderson's squad has 401 points in the D3baseball.com poll to maintain its No. 9 position. SU is 13 points back of No. 8 Frostburg with those two teams set to faceoff in a non-conference contest on Thursday in Frostburg, Maryland.
Salisbury, the nation's only remaining undefeated team, continues its run at the top of the D3baseball.com poll. The Sea Gulls have 616 points and 17 first-place votes to remain ahead of No. 2 Cortland (N.Y.) State.
In the ABCA poll, the Hornets vault to the No. 13 position with 240 points. This is just one spot behind fellow ODAC member Randolph-Macon.
UW-Whitewater continues its position at the top of the ABCA poll. The Wildcats have 470 points and 10 first place votes to stay just in front of Cortland State.
Frostburg is currently sixth in the ABCA poll.
Shenandoah returns to action on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. ODAC contest against Bridgewater. The Eagles are among a host of teams receiving votes in the D3baseball.com poll.
