WINCHESTER, Va. - Today, we catch up with baseball All-American Michael Paul.
Major(s): Mathematics major with secondary education minor
Sport(s) Played: Baseball
Why did you choose Shenandoah? I loved the feel of family coming from the baseball team along with their prowess as an elite team. Along with sports I liked the small classrooms and the personals levels you could achieve with professors.
Favorite Class and Professor: Aerobics with Karen Hattenback was my favorite class. She made everything so fun and her energy made everybody smile.
What do you like most about playing sports at SU? I love the family that I am a part of here at Shenandoah. The guys that I have played with make the team as great as it is.
Favorite thing to do in Winchester: With all the places to eat around Winchester, I've always liked to just try every one and find which ones are the best.
Favorite SU Athletics Memory: It's been great playing in two regionals now and being in the drivers seat for both of them, but I still feel like there is something greater to come.
What has playing athletics at SU meant to you? Playing sports at Shenandoah is my life. I would assume, as many other athletes feel, sports brought us to Shenandoah. We always joke as a team about this, but we really do major in baseball.
Post-Graduate Plans: I plan to get a teaching job as a math teacher at either the middle school or high school level. After three years of experience and getting a masters in educational administration, I want to become a principal.
Nobody knows that I... Can turn my foot around so it faces backward.
