Senior Bryce Sears (1-0) allowed one run on four hits and three walks in 7.0 innings of work.
He struck out six before turning it over to classmate Kyle Gladu for the final six outs.
Seven of nine Hornet starters had at least one hit and one that didn't, junior Joey Donofrio, drove in a run with a fourth inning sacrifice fly.
