FOREST, Va. - Shenandoah University had 223 student-athletes named Academic All-ODAC in selections announced Friday by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
All 21 intercollegiate athletic programs at SU had at least four student-athletes selected to the squad. Student-athletes who posted at least a 3.25 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year are named Academic All-ODAC.
Football, with 38 honorees, led the department in total number selected while women's tennis had its eight of its nine members honored to lead in percentage. Thirteen teams: baseball, field hockey, football, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, men's indoor track & field, women's indoor track & field, men's outdoor track & field, women's outdoor track & field and women's volleyball, had at least 10 members earn Academic All-ODAC accolades.
The 223 named this year bests last year's total by three and represents nearly 44 percent of the department's total student-athlete population.
