FOREST, Va. – A pair of Shenandoah University seniors have earned ODAC Player of the Week honors in selections announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
The Vienna, Virginia native allowed a one run on three hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings pitched. He struck out eight.
Zorrilla, who was named All-ODAC following her sophomore season in 2016, led the Hornets to three wins last week with five goals and eight assists for 18 points. In the Hornets 11-7 ODAC win over Roanoke last Monday, the Lancaster, Pennsylvania native had a goal and five assists.
She followed that up with three goals in an 18-7 non-league win over DeSales and a goal and three assists versus Scranton Saturday afternoon.
This is the second time that baseball and women's lacrosse have been recognized by the league this spring. Annie McCorry earned the first women's lacrosse honors on February 19 while Michael Bugonowicz was named as the league's Pitcher of the Week last week.
The baseball team is back in action Tuesday at York (Pa.) with the women's lacrosse team hosting Marywood Wednesday at 6.
