WINCHESTER, Va. – Cross country and women's soccer headline weekend action at Shenandoah with those three programs all hosting events.
The cross country teams lead off the weekend by hosting the annual Hornet Harrier Saturday morning at Kernstown Battlefield.
Twenty men's and women's programs will be in attendance Saturday morning for the women's 5000-meters, men's 6000-meters and the open two-mile events.
The day kicks off with the open two-mile at 9 a.m.
Women's soccer hosts its first ODAC contest of the season in a 2 p.m. match versus Guilford. The Hornets come into Saturday's game with a 4-3 overall record thanks to a 4-3, double overtime victory over Stevenson Wednesday evening.
Senior co-captain Lauren Johnson scored her first collegiate goal as the game-winner in the 105th minute.
Guilford is 3-3 on the year following a 2-0 win over Johnson & Wales Wednesday evening.
Shenandoah is 5-0 lifetime over Guilford and has outscored the Quakers 15-1 in those five games. Last season, SU was a 6-0 winner in Greensboro with then-freshman Emily Yergin scoring three goals and dishing out two assists.
Women's golf, which just hosted a home event last weekend, travels to Harrisonburg this weekend to compete in the Bridgewater College Invitational.
Women's tennis becomes the final program to begin fall play with its participation in the ITA Southeast Regionals this weekend in Fredericksburg.
Football, men's tennis and men's golf are all idle this weekend.
