This Week in SU Sports

WINCHESTER, Va. – It's a quiet week at Shenandoah University for home events as just two teams host games between Monday and Sunday.

On Wednesday night, the women's soccer team hosts Franklin and Marshall in a 7 p.m. non-league contest. The two teams met last year in the season opener with SU taking a 1-0 win over the Diplomats in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Thursday brings the final home event of the week as volleyball hosts Mount Aloysius in a 7 p.m. contest.

SU has met MAC in each of the past three volleyball seasons with the Hornets winning two of those three contests.

Last year, the Mounties were 3-2 winners in an October 1 match played in Cresson, Pennsylvania.

In addition to those two home events, the department is in action on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in away contests.

The volleyball team helps Penn St. – Altoona open its new facility on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. match before it travels to Washington College on Saturday for a tri-match with the host Shorewomen and the College of Notre Dame.

Field hockey has road games at McDaniel Wednesday and York (Pa.) Saturday.

Men's soccer plays twice within 24 hours as It travels to Wesley for a Friday night contest and to Penn St. – Altoona for a 3:30 match Saturday.

Women's soccer, after hosting F&M Wednesday, makes a trip to the Garden State to play Rutgers-Camden Saturday and Stockton Sunday.

Cross country and football compete just once each this week with the harriers heading down I-81 to compete in the JMU Invitational Saturday.

Saturday evening, the football team plays its second straight night game (and first of four straight on the road) as they play N.C. Wesleyan in a 7 p.m. non-league contest at Rocky Mount Athletic Complex in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Men's Tennis is the final team in action as the squad makes its way south to compete in the Bluefield College Invitational over the weekend.
