WINCHESTER, Va. - Sixteen intercollegiate athletics teams earned at least a 3.0 team GPA in team grades released Tuesday by the athletic department.
The women's tennis team, with a 3.81 team GPA, paced the 16 teams earning the 3.0 standard. Women's soccer came in at 3.61 and field hockey 3.41 to round out the top three.
The seven-woman tennis squad saw two of its members, Denisa Banasova and Morgan Fuqua, achieve perfect 4.0s with Emma Crue and Melodie Madison at 3.94 and 3.93, respectively. All seven had at least a 3.45 GPA.
Each of the 11 women's intercollegiate athletic programs had at least a 3.0 team GPA.
Lacrosse and golf both posted a 3.29 to lead the men's side with soccer at 3.19, baseball at 3.08 and cross country at 3.07.
The 509 student-athletes at Shenandoah had a 3.07 GPA this past semester with the women at 3.31 and the men at 2.93.
