Harriers Sweep at McDaniel

WESTMINISTER, Md. - The Shenandoah University men's and women's cross country teams continued their winning ways Saturday afternoon by sweeping the 3K portion of the McDaniel Invitational.

The women were perfect in their event, taking the top three places and having the eighth place finisher.

Senior Amy Smith had 11:42.40 to win it with Dorothy Earner second at 12:06.90 and Roni Frye third with a 12:18.60.

On the men's side, senior Josiah Renton was second with a 9:34.80 to key that victory. Renton lost the race by .7 seconds.

Sophomore Ryan Taylor was fifth and Jake Garcia eighth to round out the scoring men.

SU won that race 18-48 over Roanoke while the women won 14-48 over host McDaniel.

Both teams are off this coming week and return to action with the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational on September 24.
