Gettysburg Outlasts Volleyball

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Host Gettysburg College outlasted Shenandoah University in a 3-2 non-league volleyball victory over the Hornets Wednesday evening.

After Gettysburg (10-5) won the first two sets 25-12 and 26-24, Shenandoah (9-11) stormed back to win 25-23 in both sets three and four.

The Bullets then claimed victory by winning 15-8 in the fifth. GC won the first three points and five of the first six to take a lead it would not relinquish.

Caylin Harris and Elizabeth Lamont both had 14 kills for the Hornets with Emily Cheatwood adding seven.

Rachel Cerretani had 29 of the squad's 43 assists.

Defensively, Harris had 19 digs, Lamont 18, and Jasmine Callahan 13.

Regine Bumper had four service aces.

The Hornets return home on Saturday at 1 for an ODAC match against Emory and Henry.
