The Yellow Jackets (13-2, 6-0 ODAC) were 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15 winners over the Hornets (8-9, 2-4 ODAC).
SU started strong in the opening set leading 4-1 and 9-7 but could not contain a strong Macon performance from the service line. R-MC, which had 14 total aces for the match, posted five of those in the opening set.
Tori Puryear led the victors with nine kills while Katie Rossberg added eight. Riley Martin and Bailey Troia led the team with 16 and 15 assists, respectively.
In the final set of the night, Shenandoah built an early 8-5 lead but watched the Jackets score 11 of the next 16 points to regain a 16-13 advantage. A Hornet timeout and back-to-back kills by Samantha Schambach was not enough as Macon clinched the victory with a 9-0 run.
Schambach finished with seven kills for SU with Mary Harshman adding six. Kelcy Brown had 15 assists and Nicole Mueller and Megan Gillispie paced the defensive effort with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
The Hornets, who have lost five straight, will look to get back into the win column by kicking off SU Homecoming Weekend with a 7:00 non-league match against Hood on Friday.
