The Captains (16-2, 9-0 USA South) won at 13, 16 and 17 over the Hornets (7-8, 3-5) in the opener before taking the nightcap 16, 14 and 15.
Shenandoah made its best run in the second set of the opening match, scoring six straight points and eight of nine to cut the deficit to 22-16.
Unfortunately for the Hornets, CNU won back the serve on a Brooke Moore kill and then converted a pair of SU attack errors to clinch the set.
The Captains led throughout the third and won the match on an assisted block from Jessie Heavenrich and Chelsea McClure.
Christie Fellows had 10 kills for Christopher Newport.
In the nightcap, Fellows had 14 kills against zero errors in 18 attempts to key the victory. McClure and Jessie Kolden, the current USA South Conference Rookie of the Week, both contributed seven kills.
Sophomore Haley Smith paced the Hornets with six kills and Harshman added five.
Jones had a co-match-high 10 digs.
