Class of 2018 Spotlight - Alyssa White

Class of 2018 Spotlight - Alyssa White

WINCHESTER, Va. - We continue our look at the Class of 2018 by meeting women's tennis player Alyssa White.

Major: Business administration

Sport Played: Tennis

Why did you choose Shenandoah?  I was able to easily transfer here from Hagerstown Community College and continue to play the sport I love.

Favorite Class and Professor: Marketing with Giles Jackson

What do you like most about playing sports at SU? I like how close the team is including the guys team. We all practice hard together everyday, and support each other at every match.

Favorite thing to do in Winchester: My roommates and I like to take every opportunity to go hiking and enjoy the beauty of the nature out in this area.

Favorite SU Athletics Memory: I would say winning the "unsung player" award at the end of the season. This award meant a lot to me because it was a very rough season for the whole team but I was playing at a very intense level and giving it my absolute all every time out.

What has playing athletics at SU meant to you? It has given me a lot of motivation to do well at school and for that, has meant the world. I have made a life-long friendship with my doubles partner and I will forever be grateful for that.

Post-Graduate Plans: I plan to find a stable job while continuing to pursue my masters degree in health care management online.

Nobody knows that I... was actually in Radiography school pursuing a career as an x-ray technician. However, transferring here and learning the business world has been an awesome experience.
