Women's Tennis Dominates Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team earned its second straight conference victory with a 8-1 USA South Conference win at Peace Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Carla Wong led the Hornets (6-4, 3-2 USA South) to the victory over the Pacers (2-7, 2-4) with a pair of dominating victories.

After combining with Shannon Allin to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, Wong finished her perfect day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Zoe Littman in the top singles matchup.

Shenandoah led 2-1 after doubles thanks to an 8-2 triumph from Rachel Gross and Kelsey Brewster at No. 3.

Needing three singles victories to clinch, Wong and Allin did their part by winning in the top two matches before Brewster was a 7-5, 6-0 victor at No. 5.

Gross became the fourth Hornet to get a second win on the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4.

Allin won her match at No. 2 6-2, 7-5.

SU is back in action on Sunday at Methodist in a USA South doubleheader with the men.
