Women Swat Wasps

WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its third ODAC women's soccer victory of the season with a 4-1 triumph over Emory and Henry College Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets (5-7-1, 3-3-1 ODAC) scored the opening four goals of the game to take a commanding lead over the Wasps (3-9, 2-6).

Senior Sarah Hensley had the initial tally of the contest for SU, scoring off of a Courtney Stull assist in the 22nd minute while junior Hannah Oakes had what proved to be the game-winner in the 38th minute.

Stull had her second assist, this time to Brittany Butcher in the 52nd minute, to effectively seal the win.

Butcher then returned the favor, setting up freshman Danielle Burris in the 59th minute, to close the book on the Hornets scoring.

E&H had its lone goal with 10 minutes to play.

The Hornets outshot their visitors 22-7 and had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
