Macon (6-4, 5-1 ODAC) scored the first two goals of the game, but had to hold on as SU (4-7-1, 2-3-1) cut the deficit to one goal on two different occasions.
Freshman Catherine Major brought the Hornets to within one goal with her unassisted tally in the 53rd minute, and after the Yellow Jackets scored in the 58th, Major set up sophomore Courtney Boschert in the 87th minute to make the score 3-2.
Unfortunately for Shenandoah, Boschert's shot was the final one of the contest.
SU had plenty of chances to score earlier in the contest, outshooting R-MC 20-12, but Jackets keeper Briana Housekeeper made seven saves to help the hosts hold on for the win.
The two teams split 12 corners.
Hornets keeper Nichole Pratt had three saves.
Shenandoah hosts Emory and Henry on Saturday at 5:00 in another ODAC contest.
