Soccer & Field Hockey Open Practice
WINCHESTER, Va. - As campus buzzed with students checking into Shenandoah University, the school's men's and women's soccer and women's field hockey teams opened practice Monday morning.
Women's Soccer, with its roster of 25, was first up with a 7 a.m. conditioning session on Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium.
The 19-member men's soccer team held its first practice at 8:30 this morning on the field behind Shingleton Gymnasium and will take to the turf at Shentel this evening between 8-10 p.m.
Field Hockey, with a program best-ever 16 women, followed women's soccer onto the turf with a 9 a.m. conditioning practice.
All three teams open their 2009 seasons on September 1. The field hockey and women's soccer teams will host a doubleheader at Shentel while the men's soccer team travels to Eastern Mennonite.
