Terza Earns USA South Honor

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore goalkeeper Kat Terza has been named USA South Conference Defensive Player of the Week in selections announced Monday by the conference office.

Terza, who returned in the second half of Saturday's game against N.C. Wesleyan after missing two games with an injury, had a combined 11 saves as SU tied N.C. Wesleyan 1-1 and Christopher Newport 0-0.

Playing the final 65 minutes of the NCWC contest, Terza stopped the only Bishops shot on goal that she faced.

On Sunday, she had 10 saves in the scoreless tie against league leader Christopher Newport. Included in this total was a breakaway save late in the second half and another she pulled from the top corner of the goal.

This is the third time this season that Terza has been named Defensive Player of the Week and the sixth time she has earned a conference weekly honor in her career.

Shenandoah completes its regular season schedule on Friday night with a 7:00 contest against Mary Baldwin College. SU will clinch a home game at next week's conference tournament with a win over the Fighting Squirrels.
