Eagles Edge Women's Soccer
BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College scored the game's only goal Wednesday afternoon to edge Shenandoah University 1-0 in non-conference women's soccer action at Jopson Field.
Meghan Groos scored off of a Brittany Harris assist in the 63rd minute to push the Eagles (3-0-1) past the Hornets (1-2).
Groos' goal was one of 12 shots that the two teams combined to put on goal all afternoon. Shenandoah keeper Kat Terza made six saves while Shauna Manovich had five stops for the victors.
Bridgewater held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Shenandoah is back in action this Friday and Saturday with games at Westminster (Pa.) and Washington & Jefferson.
