Women Claw 'Cats

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team earned its sixth straight game Tuesday evening with an 11-1 ODAC win at Randolph College.

The Hornets (10-6, 7-2 ODAC) reach the 10-win mark for the fourth consecutive season thanks to the win over RC (5-11, 2-7).

SU dominated play, holding possession for most of the night, and only allowed the WildCats seven shots in the contest.

Shenandoah took 20 of 22 shots in the opening stanza on its way to an 8-0 halftime lead.

Senior Samantha Sisson got the scoring started for coach Lindsey Lutz' club with a goal off of a Samantha Donaghy assist just 50 seconds into the game.

By the time the contest was 10 minutes old, SU had enough offense to clinch the victory.

Six different women registered at least one point with Sisson and Donaghy both registering hat tricks.

Junior Liz Bereit, the current ODAC Player of the Week, had two goals and two assists for four points.

Ashley Cross had four saves and three groundballs to anchor the defensive effort.

SU finished the game with a 26-7 advantage in shots, 19-9 in groundballs and was a perfect for 17 for 17 in clears.

Shenandoah completes its regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 ODAC contest at Guilford. This game is also a doubleheader with the SU men, who take on the Quakers at 4:00.
