Greensboro Downs Women's Lax

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Host Greensboro College sent Shenandoah University down to its seventh straight women's lacrosse defeat with a 19-2 USA South Conference victory Sunday afternoon.

Greensboro (5-5, 3-1 USA South) clinches second place in the USA South with the win.

The Pride shut SU (1-8, 0-3) out for the first 43:45 of the contest; Shenandoah trailed 15-0 when Rebecca Hibble tallied an unassisted goal with 16:15 to play.

GC answered with another two goals before Ashley Heroth scored the visitors second and final goal on a free position shot at 7:57.

Nine different women scored goals for the Pride, who outshot Shenandoah 29-11 and won 17 of the game's 23 groundballs.

Hornets keepers Danielle Lawson and Ellen Steinsholt combined for seven saves.

SU hosts Ferrum College Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the opening game of the men/women doubleheader with the Hornet men.
